Morrison, Hedda Collection
The addition of nearly 4,700 photographs from 28 albums of Hedda Morrison’s photographs of north China is tremendously exciting. Taken roughly between 1933 and 1946, they provide an astonishing record of life in north China at this time. The Harvard-Yenching Library holds these albums as well as a further 10,000 negatives that are not included here. More information about the photographs and Morrison's life and work can be found in her books A Photographer in Old Peking (1985), and Travels of a Photographer in China, 1933-1946 (1987).
