Lang, Archibald Collection
Archibald Blyth Lang (1898-1970) arrived in Shanghai in 1923 to take up an appointment as archivist at the British Consulate General, in charge of the Record Office. He married Elsie May Wheeler on 12 March 1932 in Somerset. Lang was then working in the Secretariat of the Shanghai Municipal Council. Archibald Lang and his son Quentin were interned in Ash Camp, 65 Great Western Road (now Yan'an Xi Lu), Shanghai. Elsie died of TB in 1944. Archibald and Quentin Lang returned to Britain in 1946. 38 images. HPC ref: AL-s.
