Lang, Archibald Collection

Archibald Blyth Lang (1898-1970) arrived in Shanghai in 1923 to take up an appointment as an archivist at the British Consulate General, in charge of the Record Office. He married Elsie May Wheeler on 12 March 1932, in Somerset, England. Lang was then working in the Secretariat of the Shanghai Municipal Council. Archibald Lang and his son Quentin were interned in Ash Camp, 65 Great Western Road (now Yan'an Xi Lu), Shanghai. Elsie Lang died of tuberculosis in 1944.
