The Battle of Guilin-Liuzhou (also known as the Battle of Guiliu) lasted from 16 August to 2 December 1944, ending with a Japanese victory. The train carriages appear to have been stationary for a while: laundry drying. See JS03-24, JS03-25, JS03-26, JS03-27.
