University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: JC-s273. C.M.S. = Church Missionary Society. Four of the boys have button accordions. The text on the mat (They shall see his face) is a quotation from Revelations 22:4 (King James Bible): "And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever". See JC-s008, JC-s009, JC-s010, JC-s012 and JC-s014.
