University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: DH-s017. This photograph was taken at the first International Exposition of Electricity, which was held in Paris, France, from August to November, 1881.  "B. and F."  is Barbier et Fenestre, who made Fresnel lenses for lighthouses (the company was later named: Barbier, Bénard et Turenne).
