Kung Tai (Gong Tai)

KUNG Tai (GONG Tai) flourished from the 1870s to 1890s. He was an “important photographer and perhaps the most popular commercial Chinese studio in Shanghai during this period, much respected by the local community and noted for its multi-part panoramas of the Shanghai Bund” Terry Bennett History of Photography in China - Chinese Photographers - 1844-1879, Quaritch 2013 (see pp137-146).
