This photograph is reproduced in 'The Press Corps of Old Shanghai' by Malcolm Rosholt on page 13 and captioned: "The Shanghai foreign community was dominated by British traditions. One of these was the poster advertising highlights of a new edition of a newspaper. This poster was written by the author [Malcolm Rosholt] when he served as night editor of the China Press. The date is 20 September 1937, at the height of the Chinese-Japanese air battles over Nanking."
