The paddle steamer SS ‘Alaska’ (1867–1879) was launched on 27 November 1867 for the Pacific Mail Steamship Company service between New York and Aspinwall. She served from 2 August 1868 until June 1869 and was later used on the San Francisco to Panama City and San Francisco to Hong Kong services until 1879. The ship was repaired after the 1874 typhoon and resume service. She was rebuilt in 1882 and later became a coal hulk and store ship at Acapulco until 1885.
