General note: Title from album caption. Provenance: Purchased from Lucy Drew, 1949. This is the grave of Lydie Alston Hole (1855-1878). Lydie Alston Hole was the first wife of Walter Hillier, whom she married on 18 October 1877. She died in childbirth on 3 December 1878 in Shanghai. Access to original photographs and albums in the Edward Bangs Drew Collection is restricted.
