University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Ca02-058. Maude Ridout, née Carrall (1882-1949). Phyllis Carrall (1895-1902). Photograph probably taken at 'Hillside', Chefoo (Yantai). The date (23rd April 1902) is significant; Phyllis died on 14th May of scarlet fever, like her father (James Wilcocks Carrall), and this must be one of the last photographs of her.
