University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: BL01-02. The Bund had been decorated to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Connaught to Shanghai in April 1890. Flags put out include the Scottish Saltire, Red Ensign (British), and the English Cross of St George, as well as national flags for France and USA. Ceremonial archway.
