University of Bristol - Historical Photographs of China reference number: Bk04-35. Source: 'The Pageant of Peking' by Donald Mennie (A.S.Watson and Co., Shanghai, 1920). The Bronze Pagoda (Pavilion of Precious Clouds), was made entirely of cast bronze in 1755.  The Bronze Pavilion survived the 1860 burning - and the looting that followed the Boxer Uprising - with minimal damage.  New Summer Palace (Yiheyuan), Peking (Beijing).  See also Bk04-02.
