Edinger, Ernest Collection
Captain Ernest Duncan Edinger, who served in the Royal Army Pay Corps (RAPC), was sent out to Hong Kong in 1933 and then on to Tianjin after some six months, along with his daughter Elizabeth and son Leland. The family lived in Tientsin until 1936. E.D. Edinger’s career in the British Army began in 1914, as a Second Lieutenant in the London Regiment, and later as a captain in the Corps of Military Accountants. By 1961, he was a Colonel in the RAPC. Only a selection of the Ernest Edinger Collection is currently online – more to come. HPC refs: Ed01, Ed02 and Ed-s.
